Fisherman’s Corner: Can you smell the Redfish….?

As we head into the second week of February 2018, the weather is still unsettled, it’s colder than Floridians can bare, ridiculously low tides, and the fish are hanging in the deep water. Guess I’ll have to break out the vessel and venture out too them, because they ain’t chewing on my lures from the bank.. What’s going on? I’m starving!
This years Wintertime Blast has brought a bit of the doldrums to the fishing along Panama City Beach and neighboring communities, but for those willing to tough it out it can also be quite plentiful! While we leave the Bluefish, Whiting, Flounder, and Bonita to the vistors from the piers, beaches, and jetties. It’s us local brags that head out to our secret haunts for those tasty Redfish that have been starving for our baits since December! Here kitty kitty kitty…
Lately I’ve been trying to remember these old fish spots I love, because my brain is still frozen from tha artic temps NW Florida has been dealing with since the first of the year! Oh Mother Nature what did we do to deserve this boney chill? Whatever it is, I will personally fix it because I’m not built for cold below 60 degress period! The local Redfish aren’t either and we’re all sick of the it. Just sick of it…
Time to heat things up and get them Redfish Fillets on the hook! Redfish Etouffe is one of my favorites, so I’ll be out there starting this week. Come join me as we kick off the 2018 Redfish Season with a Madi Gras Bang! Call Michael @ 850-485-3667 for more info and best times too fish alongside one of PCB’s Top Agents!
